How it is for me

I was taught by my parents to decide what I wanted in life and then to go after it.  We were 3 girls and no boys. My father had been a captain in the army and pushed me to do things that may have been unique at that time. I started my own landscaping business at age 12, was an exchange student in W Berlin for a year at 17, and took a 70 day camping trip a friend and I planned around the U.S. at 18.  Then I started engineering classes at the University of Michigan and was 1 of only 3 women in that program at the time.  

I attended a group that studied the Gospel of John.  I was on a campus of 40,000 students at a time of campus unrest due to the Vietnam War and the draft which affected my fellow engineering students.  I could see the full life was being offered in John and that none of the things I had done or was seeing on campus provided inner comfort.  Through this process of comparison I decided to follow Jesus who is himself the full life in me.  As the years have gone on, I have continued to go to school and the world has continued to have problems.  But I am different, I have access to and experience of the full life God meant me to have.

After I received Jesus Christ into my life, my life changed for the better. I found over time that abundant life was his presence and help and comfort in addition to my circumstances in life. I only wished I had asked him in sooner.

Jesus offers life to the full, both now and forever! Jesus said, "I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full) till it overflows." (John 10:10, the New Testament, the Bible)
